Ear Piercing FAQs

Why choose to have your child’s ears pierced at a pediatrician’s office?
Having the procedure done in a medical setting ensures professional care by experts trained in medical techniques and wound management. You also have immediate access to medical professionals for any questions or concerns before, during, or after the procedure.

What is the minimum age requirement for ear piercing?
We offer ear piercing for children aged 4 to 24 months. It's recommended that the child has received at least two rounds of vaccinations before the procedure. The child must be able to remain calm and still during the procedure. Our clinical staff reserves the right to cancel the procedure if they feel it is unsafe due to the child’s lack of cooperation.

Do you offer piercings for any other body parts?
No, we only pierce earlobes.

What type of equipment and earrings do you use?
We do not use a piercing gun. Instead, we use a sterile cartridge attached to a piercing device. Our earrings are gold or diamond-like studs with a 24 karat gold-plated base and post.

Will the procedure hurt?
The procedure may cause a pinch and stinging sensation similar to a vaccine injection.

What are the risks associated with ear piercing?
Ear piercing is a minor surgical procedure and carries risks similar to those associated with stitches. While we take all necessary precautions, there is a small chance of infection, scarring, or allergic reactions. Some individuals may also be prone to keloid formation, an overgrown scar at the piercing site. We require you to sign an informed consent waiver to acknowledge that you have been informed of these risks.
